Robson Vets was established in 1900 by Mr H. W. Robson. It has now evolved into two practice locations in Laurencekirk and Montrose.

We are a small animal only practice, but are also able to see exotic animals such as birds and reptiles.

We are open between 8am and 7pm (8.30am-6pm on Saturdays) at the Laurencekirk surgery, which means we can provide evening appointments. Please see here for branch opening times.

We have veterinary nurses that stay overnight to care for patients and a duty vet on standby if needed.

We have 2 operating theatres at Laurencekirk with multiparameter monitoring machines, and thermostatically controlled patient warming systems, as well as piped oxygen into each room.

We have a diagnostic suite containing digital x-ray, ultrasound machine suitable for both abdominal and cardiac imaging, and endoscopy.

Robson Vets also had a bespoke dental suite and dental x-ray machine to provide gold standard care of your pet’s teeth.

We advise your pet has a pet insurance policy in place for unexpected bills. Please ask at reception for more information.

Our fees are payable at the time of your appointment or operation. If you wish to use your insurance to make a direct claim, this must be preapproved by the practice before the procedure has been carried out.

Our Pet Health Club is a monthly payment plan to cover the costs of vaccinations, flea and worm control and 6 monthly health checks. It also provides discounts on food and some prescription medications. Check out our website for more information.

You can order repeat prescriptions via the website or via our voicemail service. Please allow 48 hours for your medication to be ready as it needs to be dispensed and checked by a vet. There are times where you will be asked to make a medication review appointment as we need to see your pet every 6 months to dispense prescription medication.

Appointments can be booked with a telephone call to reception in working hours. Alternatively, you can book appointments through the website.

Our overnight out of hours service is provided by our partners VetsNow, working out of Aberdeen or Dundee. Find out what to do in an out of hours emergency.

Our Trained Veterinary nurses hold nurse clinics which include post-operative appointments, puppy wellness checks, nail clips, anal gland expression, weight clinics, geriatric checks and much more. Please contact the practice to book these appointments.

We have state of the art blood machines on site to allow us to diagnose your pet quickly and provide the most appropriate treatment plan.
