A team of animal lovers

Our profession is our passion, so you can be sure that your pet is in good hands with our highly-qualified vets. Together we cover a wide range of specialisations, which allows us to administer rapid and comprehensive treatment to your animals.

We have a dedicated team of Veterinary Surgeons at Robson Vets:

Ian Anderson, Veterinary Surgeon

Director

Ian was brought up near St Andrews in Fife and attended The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, part of Edinburgh University. He graduated in 1986 and was winner on the Royal Highland Agricultural Society Medal in Veterinary Reproduction and Obstetrics.

Ian then worked for 4 years in a mixed practice in Oxfordshire which allowed him to gain experience in all species including a considerable amount of exotic and zoo work. He then worked in another mixed practice in Hertfordshire concentrating mainly on farm and equine.

In 1991 Ian joined Robson Vets Ltd and is now a Director of the Business. He has interests across a breadth of species and splits his time between small animal surgery, consulting at all our clinics and ambulatory visits to large animals.

Lis Knappett, Veterinary Surgeon

Director

Lis qualified as a Vet from Cambridge University in 2006. During her time at University Lis won the Moredun Research Institute Prize for L.A. Studies and the Ron Sprathing Prize for L. A Studies (practical). She then joined Robson Vets Ltd in 2009, after 3 years spent at a mixed work practice in north Aberdeenshire working predominantly with beef cattle and sheep. Her key professional interests lie in L.A. and proactive health planning.

Lis has many interests outside of her work, she is currently redecorating her house and enjoys reading and walking her dog. She also enjoys doing cross-stitch and arts and crafts.

Lis and her husband Jon have two cats – Molly and Tasha, and a Border Terrier called Philip.

Lis recently took over from Bill Robson when he retired from practice as the new director alongside Ian. She is looking forwards to the new challenges that this will bring and hopes to develop the practice further over the next few years.

Katrin Lewis, Assistant Veterinary Surgeon (P/T)

Katrin qualified as a vet from Edinburgh University in 1994 and currently works part-time at Robson Vets Ltd.

She first joined the practice full-time in 1994, for 3 years, and then worked in Ellon until March 2001, when her first daughter was born. Since then, she has worked part-time in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeen, and then returned to the Robson Veterinary Hospital in 2004.

At work Katrin enjoys the challenging and unusual small animal medical cases.

At home, apart from involvement in a multitude of children’s activities, she enjoys running, hill walking and especially baking and cooking.

Katrin is married to Daniel and has four children – Megan, Keri, Scott and Gregor. They currently have a Welsh Cob on loan that Katrin and her daughters enjoy riding. Their children also have a number of pets including Jess the dog, guinea pigs and stick insects.

Suzanne Warren, Assistant Veterinary Surgeon

Suzanne always wanted to be a vet, but took the long way round, studying an agricultural qualification and a zoology degree before qualifying as a vet in 2012. Suzanne has worked in Banff since qualifying and slowly expanded her menagerie of animals, currently standing at 4 fish, 3 dogs, 4 cats  as well as a horse, 2 Shetland ponies & lots of chickens, sheep, goats and pigs.
